Tell us what you are learning. Thats right, wolf. The president plans to nominate judge Amy Coney Barrett. In conversation, the white house has indicated that barrett is the intended nominee. Of course, the white house would need some of these republicans to come out in her defense once that announcement is made. Sources say, look, heres a caveat. Until it is announced by the president , there is always the possibility that trump makes a lastminute change. But the expectation is barrett is the choice. Shes the only potential nominee to have met with the president in person this week. Its not clear what if anything shes been told by the white house about the nomination at this point, and she was seen at her home in indiana today, but often notifying a Supreme Court judge is done as soon as possible for secrec
Actually ought to fire the Deputy Attorney general. As you know, hes been in his cross hairs for quite some time. But i think the Michael Cohen raid has taken it to a very different level. And this would all be, of course, firing rosenstein would allow him to put a greater pressure on the special counsel. But there are lots of different voices in that room. There are people trying to calm the president down saying wait, dont do anything yet. Some of his attorneys are el toing us that hes not going to fire rosenstein. Other attorneys are saying look, its up to the president , but some are making the case to the president , look, Rod Rosenstein is conflicted here. Hes a material witness in this case. And we have a very good case to make against him if we need to do that. And so they also believe that, you know, hes important to the mueller case. Because, of course, dont forget, he wrote the memo about the firing of comey. Theyre saying this is a clear conflict and we can make that case.
