Mangaluru: As political parties gear up for the Lok Sabha elections in Dakshina Kannada, there is a growing call from activists to prioritise the prot.
A forum of environmentalists has brought to the notice of the district administration about mangroves, by the side of Nethravati and Phalguni rivers, being destroyed due to the dumping of waste. Activists said that people with vested interests have been dumping waste, including construction debris, by the side of rivers with an ulterior motive of encroaching on land after destroying mangroves.
