Data suggested that clinically apparent Helicobacter pylori infection is associated with an 11% increase in risk, but an expert urges caution in interpreting the findings.
While the cause of Alzheimers disease is multifaceted, the findings build upon a growing body of evidence on the potential role of infections, particularly H Pylori, in its development. The study found that people with symptomatic H. pylori infection had an 11 per cent higher risk of developing Alzheimers disease.
