Drunk teen crashes, writes off car while on KFC run

Premium Content Subscriber only A late-night trip to KFC while drunk turned a teenager s life upside down after he crashed his vehicle into an embankment, which left him and his friend injured, and landed him in legal hot water. Gympie Magistrates Court heard 18-year-old Tyson Craig Woodrow had been drinking throughout the day on November 18 before he tried to drive to Gympie s KFC about 11pm. The trip ended abruptly when he crashed head-on into an embankment near the intersection of Eel Creek Rd and Rocks Rd. Police later recorded a 0.13 reading from the P-plater. The crash landed Woodrow in hospital.

Gympie teen blows 102 on P-plates

Jack Brian Davies was pulled over by police while he was driving his Holden along Jane St about 11pm on December 15. His roadside breath test returned a reading of .102. Davies, a full-time manager at McDonald s who had no criminal history, pleaded guilty in Gympie Magistrates Court to driving while over the middle alcohol limit on a provisional licence. Davies faced the Gympie Magistrates Court this week.

Gympie magistrates Court heard Tristan Shane William Webb was frustrated by his neighbour revving his motorbike and doing burnouts outside his home, so Webb and his brother confronted the neighbours at their home on the evening of March 8, 2020. Webb s brother went armed with a tent pole, the court heard. Webb pleaded guilty to three charges in Gympie Magistrates Court this week. In response to this potential threat, one of the victims armed themselves with a metal bar, so 30-year-old Webb grabbed his own weapon.
