강원지역 해수욕장 개장에 맞춰 코로나19 확진자가 크게 늘어 방역당국이 긴장하고 있다. 강릉은 19일부터 수도권처럼 사회적 거리 두기 4단계를 시행하기로 했다.
강원도는 “18일 오후 6시 기준 21명이 코로나19에 확진됐다. 강릉은 거리 두기 단계를 4단계로 상향한다”고 발표했다. 강원은 16일 45명, 17일 52명 등 확산세가 커지고 있다.

Local authorities on Jeju Island and in Gangwon Province and Busan, popular tourist destinations known for their beaches, are struggling to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, as an increasing number of vacationers are visiting the regions for the summer holiday season.
The country is facing another wave of infections, with the new daily cases having exceeded 1,000 for the past week. Most infections have been focused on the Seoul metropolitan area, but cases reported in other parts of the country are also showing a growing trend, with local authorities raising concerns that the fourth wave of infections could be spreading from the Seoul metropolitan area to their regions.
