Gwynedd residents urged to follow Covid rules as case rates do not fall in line with rest of Wales

GWYNEDD residents are being urged to follow coronavirus rules as the number of positive cases have not fallen in line with other counties in Wales. The Gwynedd Covid-19 Prevention and Surveillance Group (GPSG​) which is working to protect communities from Covid-19 urged residents to follow the regulations to stop the spread of the virus. Gwynedd has the highest coronavirus incidence rate in Wales over the past seven days (at 89.1 per 100,000), above the national average (50.9 per 100,000). Unlike most other Welsh counties, the number of reported Covid-19 infections are not decreasing significantly week on week. Dafydd Williams, Gwynedd Council’s head of environment and chair of the Gwynedd Prevention and Surveillance Group, said: “It is almost a year since the first lockdown was introduced and we know that it has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone.
