A homeowner and their dog were able to get out of their burning home on New Year's Eve with the help of a neighbor, a Gwinnett County Fire official said.
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners recently accepted a $166,000 grant that will allow for the purchase of various new equipment for first responders.
Firefighters said they faced yet another hurdle with “deteriorating structural conditions”. They were not able to check two apartments in the building for trapped victims.
