HARARE, June 25 (Xinhua) The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of Zimbabwe closed five more courthouses on Friday after some users got infected with COVID-19. The five courthouses and Office of the Sheriff (of Gweru City) have been closed for purposes of fumigation, testing of staff and contact tracing of all the people who may have come into contact with the cases, JSC said in a statement.
Earlier on Wednesday, JSC Secretary Walter Chikwana announced the closure of seven courthouses on similar grounds.
Zimbabwe has witnessed a surge in COVID-19 infections in the past weeks and as of Friday has recorded 45,217 cases and 1,721 deaths. Enditem

HEADS are set to roll at the Gweru City Council if a report on the financial health of the municipality recently carried out by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) implicates any official for graft.
This was announced by the city’s mayor Josiah Makombe during a press conference Thursday.
Makombe said the council would not hesitate to wield the axe on anyone implicated in corruption after the report is completed.
“ZACC interviewed those whom they thought had deals which are corrupt. They went through our books and a report is being compiled and we are waiting to hear from them,” Makombe said.
