The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is pressing ahead, laying the groundwork for charging tolls on nine bridges across Pennsylvania to raise money for repair and replacement.
South Fayette will become the new regional home for iHeartMedia and a popular rock station.
The company, which includes WDVE, announced it is moving its Pittsburgh area headquarters from 200 Fleet Street in Green Tree to Beacon I, an 80,000-square-foot office building in the township.
“We’re really excited about them choosing South Fayette as their location, and we look forward to working with them and getting South Fayette’s name on the map,” township commissioners President Gwen Rodi said Tuesday evening.
Officials from Burns Scalo Real Estate, which owns the office building, recently released a statement about the move.
“The current activity taking place is what the community has been waiting for, for a long time,” said BSRE CEO Jim Scalo. “South Fayette is no longer a pass-through along I-79, it is the premier destination south of Pittsburgh.”
