GUWAHATI: One of Assam’s best loved musicians and singers, Kula Barua, who lent his voice to an endless number of songs for films, passed away on Thursday night in his residence in Silpukhuri here. He was 83.
Born in 1938, the noted musician began his career with the All India Radio and the programme ‘Semoniar Sora’ was his stepping stone into the world of music. Since 1968, he was performing regularly at AIR programmes.
