Two persons were arrested from the Sijubari area of Guwahati in connection with the firing incident in Hatigaon on December 31st night. They were produced at the chief judicial magistrate’s court and sent to jail. The arrested persons have been identified as Kabir Ali Ahmed and Nurul Hussain, both residents of Hatigaon.
The Chief Minister's special vigilance cell interrogated the now-suspended ACS officer Sukanya Bora in connection with a case of having assets disproportionate to her income. The vigilance cell also conducted a search at the residence of a former divisional forest officer in connection with a graft case.
