A man who was shot at by his cousin’s boyfriend died after he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The victim had sustained a bullet injury and was undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital. But his condition was stated to be critical and on Monday he lost his battle with life.
Guwahati police arrested a driver for allegedly running away after looting a city-based businessman of Rs 30 lakh. Two more people were arrested in connection with the crime.
The victim was brought to the Nemcare private hospital by her neighbours who first saw smoke arising from the victim’s apartment. Meanwhile, in the complaint, the victim’s mother alleged that the couple frequently quarrelled and her daughter was tortured by her in-laws for dowry too.
