MANGALURU: In an attempt to enter the India Book of Records, a government school teacher swam one kilometer in the Arabian Sea with his legs chained in a Padmasana posture at Tannirbavi on Friday.
Nagaraja Kharvi Kanchugodu, 38, a teacher at Government Higher Primary School, Kalmanja, Bantwal taluk swam in breaststroke style in Padmasana (lotus position in yoga) and completed the feat in 25 minutes 16 seconds (25:16:63). Kharvi told TOI that no one has ever tried this feat and it will be a new record of its own sort.
