A financial scam of around Rs 1 crore in a cooperative society here has come to the fore wherein its secretary allegedly conducted transactions in the accounts of 17 dead farmers and issued receipts for lakhs of rupees he received as cash from members which he did not deposit in the bank.

Highlights Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Webbe supported and thanked American pop star Rihanna s stand on the matter. Earlier, a petition was started on the issue by one Gurcharn Singh and it garnered over one lakh signatures as support for the campaign. UK Member of Parliament Claudia Webbe on Wednesday extended support to the ongoing protests by farmers on the borders of Delhi against the three farm laws and asserted that the matter will be taken to the UK Parliament. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Webbe supported and thanked American pop star Rihanna s stand on the matter. Earlier, a petition was started on the issue by one Gurcharn Singh and it garnered over one lakh signatures as support for the campaign. Any petition needs to have secured a minimum of 100,000 signatures to get qualified for a debate in UK Parliament. So far, it has secured 107,261 signatures.
