It was all eyes on the Zondo Commission this week as, for the first time in the history of South Africa, a sitting President testified at a Commission of Inquiry.
President Cyril Ramaphosa s appearance at the Zondo commission dominated the news this week.
In his two-day appearance before Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, the President fielded questions around ANC s policies, role and oversight during the state capture years.
In a statement to Zondo, the party leader said state capture undermined the integrity and capability of public institutions and deeply damaged the effectiveness of the ANC.

GAUTENG - The Commission of Inquiry into State Capture will today hear Eskom and Estina dairy farm project related evidence from former Mineral Resources, Minister Mosebenzi Zwane.
Former Free State Agriculture CFO Seipati Dlamini previously told the Commission that then-MEC Zwane initiated the Estina dairy project which was out of usual business practices.
Public Protector advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane found former Free State Premier Ace Magashule and Zwane’s conduct in the Vrede dairy farm project amounted to maladministration and improper action.
It was later found that none of the multi-billion rand funds were used on the project but instead transferred to Gupta-linked bank accounts.

GAUTENG â It was no surprise why former finance minister Malusi Gigaba made a strong attempt to block his wife from testifying at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture after she made explosive revelations on Monday night.
Norma Mngoma told the commission that her husband was a servant of the Guptas and their lavish lifestyle was mostly funded by the infamous family.
However, before her testimony, Mngoma made a plea to have her evidence delayed until she was able to supplement her affidavit. She claimed that some aspects of her original affidavit had been added and edited by evidence leaders in the commission and were not of her personal knowledge.
