Community leaders are encouraging Milwaukee residents to take part in a citywide cleanup event Friday.
As snowbanks melt in warmer weather, piles of trash are being revealed across the city. The Guns Down Miltown campaign is spearheading the cleanup effort Friday to beautify our blocks, according to a flyer.
Volunteers are encouraged to clean up their neighborhoods from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.
“I strongly encourage neighbors to come out and take part in this important and community strengthening event for our neighborhoods,” Ald. Khalif Rainey said in a statement. “By rolling up our sleeves and working together we can improve the area while enjoying a family-friendly and positive day.”
