whenever they want? that s exactly right. many of them have been on social media. one hostage in particular has posted a very horrifying message on social media with a list of the demands. and they have also been texting family and friends from the inside to say look, i am inside, i am okay at the moment, these are the demands, and if they re not met, you know, threats to kill and, you know, some other very horrible threats have been made against the group. interesting, isn t it, that this gunman didn t take their phones away. they re sitting there texting whomever they want, it seems, and presumably they could reach out to the police or be texting with the police. we just don t know, do we? you re right. it is bizarre. this whole thing is playing out on facebook, twitter, you know, through radio announcers. it is a very bizarre situation. and police have actually
happened in terms of who acts properly and who did what. by not releasing them it created more conspiracies. the thinking was in a the tapes should be released. you don t hear screaming, you don t hair chaos or pandemonium. what you here is a quiet fear as people called 911 to tell dispatchers that a gunman was in the building. one woman called and pleaded with dispatchers to send police as quickly as possible. she saw the gunman and she heard what appear todd sound like shooting. another woman who was shot in the foot crawled into a classroom and she is talking to the dispatcher saying she can t get to the door to close it because there are children hiding in the room. everybody was quiet and trying to hide and hope the gunman didn t come back to where they were. so listening to the control of
last night on abc s dancing with the stars, it was either going to be jack osbourne or brent daugherty going home. when the decision was made, brent daugherty and his partner were booted from the ballroom. six contestants remain. those are some of our top stories on this tuesday, november 5th. and good tuesday morning. we begin with breaking news. the search for a gunman at a large mall in northern new jersey. several shots rang out just before closing time near the nordstrom department store. the sound of gunfire sent customers and employees rushing for the exits and hiding in places. dozens of police cars rushing to the parking lot. the gunman didn t appear to be targeting shoppers, though. he was walking with a very big rifle and shooting in the air to the top. basically walked very calmly. we all ran in for our safety. from there on, we ran to the nearest exits.

they haven t elaborated what he was carrying. he is described as 19 years old. no motive has been described by authorities yet. but he is being interrogated and hoping to have answers soon. you can imagine as the police were there, under fire themselves, the children were having to find ways to get out of that school. some of them had to exit the school out the back in those dramatic pictures that we saw going off to a playground to seek refuge. they were all okay. frightened, some of them thought it was a fire drill as they were getting out of there. but they were all okay. some of them had to stay in the school because of where they were and they had a shelter in place. but this gunman didn t hurt anyone though he had the potential to do a great deal of harm here. just amazing, david, in terms of the children and how hundreds of them were able to get in terms of this gunman, do they know, i know you are saying at this point we know about the
