Gundersen Health System experts share ways to be safe around fireworks

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Fireworks bring a fun show to the Summer holidays, but health experts at Gundersen Health System want to make sure you know the dangers of fireworks.
Gundersen Health says that 50 percent of firework injuries happen to children or young adults under the age of 20, and 65 percent of those injuries happen from June 16th to July 16th.
Some tips to help prevent injuries are never allow young children to handle fireworks.
Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol.
