Samsung employees pledged to donate 23.3 billion won ($17 million) this year by participating in the conglomerate’s various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, according to the group, Thursday.
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with his employees at the company s Smart City in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, and promised to make more anonymous donations, according to industry officials Sunday. “I want to participate in volunteer works more actively, but I am well-known to the public so it s not easy for me. However, I try to donate a lot anonymously,” Lee said during a meeting with employees.
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong visited Gumi Electronics Technical High School located in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province to encourage students, according to the company, Tuesday. Lee observed a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design class, followed by a meeting with students to discuss interest in the industrial fields and technical talents. Gumi Electronics Technical High School nurtures professional technical personnel in electronics and mechatronics.
