The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation is sponsoring The State of The Lakes Area event from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the Crosslake Community Center pavilion.
This event is for seasonal residents to hear from several key organizations first-hand about key developments and what’s happening in the Crosslake area. Year-round residents may also attend.
The event will be free but advance registration is requested as seating is limited. Early registration is recommended. Local leaders from key organizations will present topics of interest and will include: the National Loon Center on its progress; Whitefish Area Property Owners Association on the health of area lakes; Crosslake Chamber’s seasonal events; local health care services; Lakes Area Music Festival details about the upcoming summer concert series and the new performin
Gull Lake Sailing School partners with Y, loon center, children’s museum

The Gull Lake Sailing School is about to get a whole lot busier this summer.
The school will host programs, activities and events for other nonprofits such as the Brainerd Family YMCA, the National Loon Center in Crosslake and the Region Five Children’s Museum.
