Turkey s Erdogan praises Finland, depreciates Sweden

On October 6, Turkish President Recep Erdogan showed a clear "temperature difference" to Sweden and Finland, which both applied to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, stressing that the former did not do enough, and said that he would actively promote the latter to "join." Talking about the prospect of Finland joining NATO, Erdogan said that Turkey's relations with Finland and Sweden are "very different" and "Finland is not a country where terrorists can roam freely."
