The exchange took place after the Opposition questioned the BJP over loans and financial aid provided by the state government to 10 boards and corporations, and the amount that remained unutilised.
In the DST budget proposed earlier this month, a new item was introduced wherein Rs 60 crore has been proposed for the financial year 2024-25 “to grant incentive for the space sector".
Desai said the new municipal corporations have been proposed for improved management of towns since the state’s total population living in urban areas is likely to reach 75 per cent by 2047.
Finance Minister Kanu Desai will present the Budget on February 2. “The Budget will not only have a plan for the next year, but a roadmap of Gujarat’s development for the next 25 years,” said Patel.
