6月27日，地铁15号线的桂林路站开通初期运营，至此该线路的30座车站全部通车，并且其中7座车站实现了与路网中既有线路的换乘，大大方便了沿线市民的出行。
据悉，地铁15号线桂林路站为地下三层岛式车站，换乘地铁9号线，需要通过长约280米左右的换乘通道，所需时间不过3-5分钟左右。值得一提的是，该换乘通道中的180米，打造成为“时空甬道”沉浸式艺术空间，乘客们在换乘地铁的同时，能感受到不一样的城市魅力。
随着该车站通车投入使用，进一步疏解分流了地铁9号线的客流，方便生活、工作在长宁的市民，前往浦东、松江及闵行部分区域。
