GovGuam transparency bill gets support at hearing

The measure was introduced by Sen. Joanne Brown and received bipartisan support at an April 21 hearing.
“I like legislative findings and intent,” Sen. Joe San Agustin said. It is essential to the maintenance of our democracy that public business be performed in an open and transparent manner.”
Meetings would be posted to the official websites of agencies or else streamed on the appropriate government channel. Any action taken at a meeting that fails to comply would be void under the provisions of the bill.
Certain agencies, such as the Guam Land Use Commission, have taken to doing live broadcasts.
