More applicants could be approved for mortgage relief program

More applicants for a mortgage relief program could be approved after federal officials allowed changing income eligibility requirements.
So far only three applications have been approved and paid out for Guam s COVID-19 Mortgage Relief Program, which was launched in late 2020, Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority Executive Director Ray Topasna said.
The program s federal income guidelines are too restrictive, rendering the majority of residents ineligible for relief, acting Guam Housing Corporation President Edith Pangelinan has said.
Topasna announced the change during an Interagency Council on Homelessness and the Office of Homelessness and Poverty Prevention meeting Thursday.
Rent relief deadline moved to March 26; checks out by April
