The rise in individuals and families living in substandard housing was a concern for organizations who participated in the Guam Homeless Coalition’s January point-in-time count.
International fighter Frank The Crank Camacho is pushing himself for a good cause by taking part in a 24-hour run/walk challenge on Feb. 12.
Camacho and Matt Sgro, chief executive officer of Guam Time, will be trekking from Merizo Pier all the way to Ritidian Point and everywhere in between from 8 a.m. Feb. 12 to 8 a.m. Feb. 13.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Guam Homeless Coalition. Residents interested in donating can go to guamtime.net.
Camacho spoke to the officials during an Interagency Council on Homelessness and the Office of Homelessness and Poverty Prevention meeting Thursday.
