On Wednesday, Sens. Christopher Duenas, James Moylan and Tony Ada, along with Guam Police Department officials, visited a Tumon parking structure that has been derelict for years.
The building on Cushing Way, across from the Blessed Diego Luis De San Vitores Catholic Church, has been an eyesore in the area for years. In July 2019, the Guam Environmental Protection agency issued a warning to former owner David Su to clean up the parking lot after it became a site for illegal dumping.
Over the years, stress eating has been a topic that many people want to discuss with me as a registered dietitian. Unfortunately, telling people to stay away from food is not so easy. This habit of eating less healthy foods when stressed cannot be reduced to just “have more willpower.” This habit of eating less healthy foods as a coping mechanism must be explored.
There can be a spectrum of stress eating. I have been at one end where I am physiologically hungry and stressed, so I eat. At the other end of the spectrum, I am stressed, and use food to cope even though I am not hungry.
