Fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks indoors or outdoors while on Naval Base Guam, according to a news release from the Navy.
The move brings the base in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Defense. Over the weekend, Andersen Air Force Base also relaxed its mask requirements.
Off-base, however, the government of Guam still requires masks to be used, and military personnel are required to comply with local law.
A person is considered fully vaccinated at least two weeks after their final dose of an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine. Those who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear a mask indoors and in outdoor settings when social distancing can’t be maintained, according to the news release.
