Covid-19 vaccine production may start on an industrial scale at Polish biotech firm Mabion in the third quarter of this year, the head of the Polish Development Fund told the Money.pl portal on Wednesday. As far as I know, the transfer of production technology for these vaccines is currently ongoing and should be finished by June, Pawel Borys told the portal. If the test series are produced and accepted, then in the third quarter production can start on an industrial scale.
Mabion closed a deal with the Novavax company in March concerning technology transfer and technical production trials of a Covid-19 vaccine on a commercial scale. It was announced at the time that the technology transfer and verification process should be completed in the first half of 2021.

Poland has one of the lowest rates of wasted vaccines in the world, a senior government official has claimed.
According to a government vaccination report, 1,428 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been discarded. This is one of the lowest levels recorded in the EU and in the world, Michal Kuczmierowski, the head of Poland s Material Reserves Agency, told Radio Plus on Tuesday. We are worried about every lost vaccine as it means less patients being vaccinated, he added.
Kuczmierowski also said Poland received confirmation of a delivery of 840,000 Moderna vaccines and about 1.2 million Pfizer vaccine doses by the end of January.
Senior citizens over 80 years of age can register for coronavirus vaccination from Friday, and people aged 70-79 will be able to apply for the jabs a week later.
