Apr 19, 2021 Police Association: “Police Officer Can’t Afford Salary Cut” Following suit with the Joint Unions, the Police Association has also taken a position on G.O.B.’s ten percent salary cuts and three year increment freeze.  The Police Association’s position is that police officers cannot afford the ten percent salary cut at all.  According to a release from the association, a letter with its position was sent to the Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Association. The letter to the Minister states that a ten percent cut will cause police officers severe financial setbacks.  It notes a ten percent salary cut and hold on increments may promote hesitancy amongst police officers when performing their duties.  Additionally, the association wrote to the minister saying that the cuts may cause police officers to resort to illicit and unethical behaviors. Growth Association Board Names New Leaders

WBGZ Radio 2/8/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio The Riverbend Growth Association has announced new leadership for its board of directors along with new board members for 2021.  Local COUNTRY Financial representative Jeff Lauritzen has been selected the new Chairman, while 1 st MidAmerica Credit Union President Alan Meyer was named Chair-elect. Lauritzen has been with COUNTRY Financial since 2013 and before that worked in the banking industry.  In addition to the Growth Association, he has also volunteered on boards serving Asbury Village, the East End Improvement Association, the United Way, and St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  Meyer has also been involved with the RGBA and the United Way, as well as the American Cancer Society and the Illinois Credit Union League.   The Board also selected four new members to serve three-year terms: Jake Bodi, Superintendent of Business Administration & Customer Service for Ameren Illinois; James Rogalsky, Co-Owner of Old Bakery Beer Co
