Stock image of an Adder ANIMAL nurses have detailed how they helped save a young Labrador after it was bitten on the face by a venomous snake in Thatcham yesterday. On April 22 Maisie, a chocolate brown Labrador, was out on a walk in Greenham Common with her owner, Abbie Passmore, when another dog stood on an Adder, causing it to get defensive and to strike Maisie on the face. This caused the poor dog to have swollen cheeks, throat and neck, and was limping when she walked. Ms Passmore then called Donnington Grove Vets, where she was taken in on an emergency and overnight stay until she recovered.
