The year 2021 ended on a positive note as textile and clothing trade bounced back handsomely over 2020, led by demand in the United States. Supply challenges related to the logistics industry remained the highlight of last year, while United Kingdom as well as the European economies were held back by the impact from Brexit. All this happened amidst renewed surges in COVID-19 infections and natural calamities in China which disturbed supply chains heavily. As a result, several key raw materials saw a historical rise in prices including petrochemicals and several others remain in acute shortage. With this backdrop, in the annual F2F webinar, we will rewind the key takeaways of 2021, how the overall economy and particularly the textile and apparel industry progressed after being hit by the pandemic. Municipalities have the lions share when it comes to migrant and refugee reception. They are responsible for providing housing, integration into local labor markets and social services such as health care, childcare, and education. Yet, they are notoriously short on funding and continue to be precluded from most EU decisions on asylum and migration policy. Nevertheless, many municipalities across Europe have declared they are ready to welcome migrants and refugees.
