The term comes from greek used for elder so we are comprised of elders that like to make sure there are checks are balances and that pastors dont have too much power and christ is the heath of the church and we are the hands and feet of the world. It is in Pacific Heights, a well known neighborhood in San Francisco. The church has a long history, i believe established in 1849. Yes. As was st. Marks in that gold rush era.
