The General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has unanimously approved Saqer bin Abdullah Al-Moqbel, the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the WTO, as the chair of the Dispute Settlement Body for 2024-2025. Al-Moqbel is the first Arab permanent representative to the organization to hold this position. Additionally, he will assume the presidency of the General Council for 2025-2026, the highest authority in the WTO.
