NWS Twin Cities Releases Minnesota Outlook Through February
There is a light at the end of the cold snap - at least there is according to the National Weather Service of the Twin Cities.
The NWS Twin Cities released an outlook for the rest of the month. They shared the outlook on their Facebook page over the weekend (February 13th) and to be honest, it was the best Valentine s gift anyone could ask for!
Their outlook promises warmer temperatures as we head into the rest of the month. To be more specific, they are forecasting temperatures above normal by the end of February. So what does this mean?

Groundhog Phil has spoken and many of us don t like what he has to say! Ha.
Here s a little background if you need it: Groundhog Day fell earlier this month - on February 2nd to be exact. Every year on this day, the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil comes out of hiding to make some weather predictions. If he sees his shadow, it means we will see six more weeks of winter. If he doesn t, it means we will see an early spring. Of course, he saw his shadow but in his defense, we probably would have seen six more weeks of winter regardless. This is the Northland, after all!
