30 years ago, Microsoft introduced the first version of Windows Media Player—then just called “Media Player”—as part of “Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions.” Since then, it’s morphed and changed dramatically over time. Here’s a look at its history.
Microsoft is now rolling out a non-essential feature update to Windows 11. This February update offers several improvements including public release of the Amazon Appstore, mute and screen sharing from the taskbar, clock on secondary monitor, and more. Additionally, Microsoft is also releasing redesigned Notepad and Media Player apps consistent with the Windows 11 design language.
