Grismore remains sheriff because only the legislature’s special impeachment committee has the power to impeach and will meet on Monday to learn what Grismore’s role will now look like.
"It certainly would bring immediate closure to the situation and I think, again, just the time and having everybody go through a trial is going to be exhaustive," said Grismore.
