Coolaroo man charged over alleged firearms incident

Michaela Meade A Coolaroo man has been charged over an alleged firearms incident in Bundoora earlier this month. Echo Taskforce detectives arrested the 37-year-old on Thursday following a search of a home in Norval Crescent, Coolaroo. The man was interviewed by detectives and has been charged with attempted aggravated burglary, attempted armed robbery, prohibited possession of a firearm, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault, possession of a drug of dependence, handling stolen goods, and dealing with property suspected proceeds of crime. The charges follow an incident in Grimshaw Street, Bundoora about 11.20am on Wednesday, April 7. Police allege two men approached a 38-year-old man outside the property and produced a firearm before making demands for property.

He was last seen wearing a khaki coloured coat with a fur hood, black trousers, and black shoes. Michael may appear confused as he suffers from dementia. He enjoys walking in the local area, however his family are concerned as he has not returned home or made contact with them since he was last seen on Friday.
