A couple who had to postpone their summer wedding because of the Covid lockdown managed to organise a replacement ceremony in the space of just 48 hours. Tara and Ashley Cain were all set to marry on August 27 with a big family do. But they cancelled in April after nationwide restrictions were brought in banning gatherings and forcing hospitality venues to close. They were among thousands faced with the disappointment and difficult decisions. Many are hoping their ceremonies, rescheduled for 2021 will finally happen, although current rules for Tier 4 say weddings should not go ahead, except in exceptional circumstances. Ashley said: It was a bit gutting as the wedding approached and then the stag and hen do had to be cancelled. We did have an outdoor cinema socially distanced with a couple of friends. After the government announcement in September, we booked it for the following September.
