enacting stricter gun laws. i m joined by one of the organizers of that trip, a junior at marjory stoneman douglas high school. jacqueline, thank you for being with us. let me ask you, you guys have gone from being students to i hope aspiring politicians in a couple days, but you witnessed one of the worst things i hope you ever have to witness. how are you? honestly, the first few days after the shooting i was a mess. but my grieving process is political action, and alongside emma gonzalez and david hogg and kameron cassidy, we are all working together. we have the same goal for this country. you are an impressive group. we have hope in you that our generation has not succeeded with but you are not unwise to the fact people have tried this before and failed. tell me why you think that your message will resonate. well, of course, this shooting happened less than a week ago and we have already seen a huge, huge response.
mayor, did anything on this call make you more confident that the administration is going to be taking steps to this? and, also, more importantly, what was discussed on that call? the conversation was mainly about giving condolences and generally offering support. our community, right now, is in a grieving process and everybody grieves here differently and on a different pace. and our focus now here is to make sure that there is tolerance and that people reserve judgment about themselves and their grieving process and the grieving process of others. mayor, i want you to listen to a couple of the students i spoke with when i was in parkland just on friday. this is sound bite number four for the control room. and this is what they wanted from the president during his visit. watch. what do you have to say to the president? i want us to be able to have a voice and actually hear what
this grieving process, through this healing process. my office, once a month they will be there first thing in the morning to provide any assistance we can, but there are some students that will not show up at school tomorrow and were going to be talking to the schools and see what we can help the schools with. it s a community that just never expected this type of situation to happen in their community. it s a most sacred place an affront to god and humanity that this would happen in the house of worship. we are looking there at the car in the field, finally, congressman any indication of what happened? have you been told whether or not he killed himself in that
