The Saharan dust warning comes after a spell of warmer weather across the UK this weekend, with temperatures lifting away from the Baltic winter lows of the past few weeks.
The Met Office tweeted: “Low pressure to our NW is feeding S ly winds into the UK from the Canaries, allowing #Saharandust to be drawn N too.
“The recent satellite image below shows this in red.
“You may notice dust deposits on cars & colourful sunrises/sets next few days.”

A number of red flood warnings have been issued across Devon and Cornwall, with warnings of winds with gusts of up to 50mph to 60mph around coastal areas.
The Met Office had previously issued an amber weather warning for parts of Devon and Cornwall for today, December 18 amid forecasts for heavy rain in the region.
But now localised red flood warnings have been issued meaning these areas are extremely likely to flood in the coming hours.
