A 23-year-old from a farming family just outside of Ayton has recently been named Ontario Queen of the Furrow. Anna Lennox is the first individual representing the Grey-Normanby Plowmen’s Association to ever be named Ontario Queen of the Furrow and the first Grey County Queen to receive the title since 1981. The Queen of the Furrow competition has been a part of the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) since 1960. The recipient of this coveted title spends the year promoting agriculture, the IPM and the Ontario Plowmen’s Association, parent hosts of the IPM, at a variety of community events throughout the province. The arrival of COVID-19 has disrupted this chain of events.
