Fans of Melbourne City and Sydney FC moved quickly to snap up the final tickets which were limited to 50% capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria. But supporters who missed out – and thousands of Sydney FC fans unable to travel because of those restrictions – are able to watch the game for free via Kayo Freebies, with the grand final being shown live and free for the first time. Once the final tickets were sold, A-League Commissioner Greg O’Rourke said he wasn’t surprised the game had sold out once it was confirmed that Melbourne city would host the game.
