“Even before the pandemic struck, Mayor Bhalla had proven his ability to be an effective municipal leader,” IUOE Local 825 Business Manager Greg Lalevee.
“From tackling some of Hoboken’s toughest infrastructure needs like Washington Street, to putting local residents to work and then keeping them safe as COVID-19 surged – Ravi has excelled at every challenge put in front of him.The hard-working men and women of Local 825 have a true partner and champion with Mayor Ravi Bhalla in office and we are proud to support him for re-election.”
The list of infrastructure projects in New Jersey that have been put off or stalled over a lack of funding is long. The American Jobs Plan will build new rail corridors and transit lines, easing congestion, cutting pollution, slashing commute times, and opening up investment in communities that can be connected to the cities, and cities to the outskirts, where a lot of jobs are these days, Biden said.
Greg Lalevee, business manager of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, which employs some 8,000 crane and machine operators, said a plan of this scale could mean well-paying jobs for the foreseeable future for the workers who would help make long-overdue upgrades to New Jersey s crumbling infrastructure.
