The accident happened just after 4 00 yesterday afternoon along the Union Pacific tracks in the area of lafayette street and laurel wood road not far from highway 101. Abc 7 News Reporter luz pena has more. Reporter the boy is younger than 15 years old. As to how the boy was able to mick his way on to the tracks is unclear. We can see Santa Clara Police officers along the Union Pacific tracks, the train that hit and killed the boy was a passenger train operated by amtrak.
