With COVID precautions, Crossings gallery offering work by 10 different artists. Written By: John Sievers | ×
Paintings by Patrice Marvin at the Crossings at Carnegie pop-up sale. (Contributed photo)
“Johnny Appletree in the Garden of Eden,” “Jungle Service for Four” and “Vegophilia” are just three of the many paintings available in a pop-up show that 73-year-old artist Patrice Marvin is calling her “last hurrah.”
Her paintings, like their titles, are playfully contrary and conjure the types of stories that help ease the pain of a long, secluded winter.
Marvin’s art includes oil and acrylic paintings, clay pieces, and work inspired by her study of Russian and German iron crosses.. She even has a life-size, 3D creation on cardboard titled “Girl Sitting” that reveals a fiery red-orange figure.
