Moonee Valley Racing Club chief executive Michael Browell said the Valley hoped Racing Victoria might be supportive of the creation of a 2040m race worth $1.5 million-plus that would be run at Moonee Valley a fortnight after the All-Star Mile. Browell said the race would be “an autumn Cox Plate” and would be a showcase for the new Moonee Valley track, which is due to be up and running in 2025, and a natural progression for All-Star runners.
