MOUNT VERNON, Wash. Mount Vernon police arrested a suspect in a recent graffiti spree that left more than $2500 in damage.
Liutenant Greg Booth says the department received several reports of blue spray painted gang style graffiti on January 17.
The vandal spray painted fences, business siding, a brick wall, and several I-5 overpass supports at Stewart Road.
A witness report led officers to the suspect, 33-year-old Rosalino Vasquez-Cruz.
During his arrest, officers saw a spray paint can in the man’s car and noticed he had fresh blue paint on his fingers.
Volunteers have cleaned up a majority of the graffiti sites.
