The City of Greenville will kick off its July Fourth holiday with a celebration at the Town Common at 105 E. First St., which will include fireworks and festivities for attendees after the annual event was missed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
Recreation and Parks Superintendent Heather White said the celebration will begin at 5 p.m. on July 4 and will last until the fireworks finale at 9:15 p.m. by the pyrotechnics company Starfire Corporation. She said Sensory Expressions, a steel drums and Caribbean music band from Raleigh, North Carolina, will perform at 5 p.m., followed by the headlining act, The Chuck Phillips band.Â
