all of the rain that has fallen in this area has to go somewhere. and it ends up in the mississippi river. whether it comes from the missouri river, the arkansas, or even the ohio rivers. they all, at some point, funnel back into the mississippi. now, st. louis crested yesterday, which is good news. the water has started to recede, but it s a different story. a little bit farther south. take a look at cape girardeau. not expected to crest until january 3rd. we already have one levee that overtopped near miller city, just on the east side of the mississippi river, that s south of cape girardeau. and again, it s possible we could have more levees that get overtopped over the next several days. and again, as we notice, a lot of these areas aren t expecting to crest for several more days. greensville and vicksburg, not for another 10 to 14 days. the problem with that is, any rainfall that we get the next 10 to 14 days could make these crests even higher, depending on that amount of water.
